About SageBridge SageBridge is an early-stage startup building an AI-powered digital assistant to help seniors stay organized and empower families caring for aging loved ones. We’re starting with real, immediate pain points: tracking appointments, medications, symptoms, and essential info — all in one place.
Founded by a former Salesforce exec and hands-on caregiver — with prior experience at HP and Nokia — we’re deeply committed to building a simple, intuitive product that meets the needs of real families. We’re moving fast toward a working MVP.
The Role We’re seeking a 25-30 hour/week, contract UI Designer to: * Collaborate directly with the founder / product owner to turn existing user flows into layouts that follow mobile-first design principles, then apply those layouts to a desktop-first MVP * Design interfaces that remove barriers that have historically prevented older adults from learning, using, and benefiting from modern technology. When done right, this unlocks tools that can fundamentally improve how they age * Deliver a clickable Figma prototype that covers the full MVP scope, with screens mapped to defined flows and ready for developer handoff
What You’ll Do * Collaborate directly with the founder and (later) a front-end developer * Design screens for core product flows, based on defined UX logic: * Schedule coordination (voice + image-based inputs) * Medication management * Symptom tracking * Contact list * Design for real-world constraints: older phones, limited connectivity, low-tech confidence * Incorporate design feedback and user insights shared by the team * Prioritize clarity, completion, and accessibility over visual flair * Follow UI accessibility best practices (e.g., contrast, tap targets, readable type) * Prepare clean, dev-ready designs and collaborate during implementation
What We’re Looking For * Strong portfolio of mobile-first product design with depth — not just polished screens, but thoughtful, interconnected flows (especially in health, productivity, or aging-tech) * Experience designing for accessibility and diverse user groups (seniors, caregivers, non-native speakers, cognitive/mobility differences) * Deep user empathy and the ability to translate raw research and founder input into clear, structured UI decisions * Proficiency with Figma, Miro, and Notion * Comfortable designing in early-stage environments — flexible, fast, and willing to evolve with the product * Confident enough to offer alternative solutions and push back when needed — but flexible enough to avoid unproductive back-and-forth * Fluent English (B2 level or above); strong communicator * Willing to overlap working hours of at least 8-11am Pacific Time
Nice to Have * Experience with voice-first or image/OCR-based UI * Background in healthcare, scheduling, or family coordination tools * Familiarity with tools like Whisper, LangChain, Pinecone, etc.
