We’re looking for a Fullstack engineer (React+Node) to join our partner Substrate Industries. About Substrate Substrate builds software and financial infrastructure to grow revenue for machine builders, lower capex for system integrators, and accelerate industrialization in America.
We help businesses acquire equipment—3D printers, escalators, and more—without spending cash upfront, by providing flexible payment plans. Role We need an Engineer who is eager to learn new things, can work with ambiguity, adapt quickly, and communicate frequently. Someone product-oriented, with a certain taste in UI/UX, and ready to step in whenever needed. Must-haves * Expert-level backend development with Node.js * Expert-level frontend development with React * Strong experience with AWS (EC2, Lambda, S3, CloudWatch, etc) * Solid with Terraform, Serverless, or other IaC frameworks * Strong DB engineering knowledge (both SQL and NoSQL) * Confident with Docker and containerized deployments * Proficient in profiling and optimizing both backend and frontend performance
Nice-to-haves * Familiarity with SSR/SSG frameworks (e.g., Next.js, Remix) * Prior work at small, fast-moving startups * Experience with Nest.js * Experience with microservices architecture * Applied LLM experience (e.g., automating document extraction)
