Who We’re Looking For We’re looking for a hands-on Tech Lead to design and build the technical foundation of a biotech startup operating in the cloud (AWS). This role combines architectural thinking with hands-on coding — you’ll lead technical discussions, shape the stack, and still contribute directly to the codebase.
The ideal candidate has a strong full-stack background with TypeScript, React, and databases, plus deep AWS expertise. Experience with AWS Amplify Gen 2, DynamoDB, Bedrock, and OpenSearch is a big plus. You should be comfortable collaborating with stakeholders and guiding a small team in a fast-moving startup environment. What You’ll Be Doing * Design scalable and secure architecture for a cloud-based platform * Contribute directly to the codebase (hands-on coding in TypeScript, React, and backend) * Collaborate with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to align technical direction * Lead technical discussions and set engineering best practices * Define the stack, system components, and technical roadmap * Review code, mentor engineers, and ensure high-quality delivery * Work closely with data teams to design data flows and scalable storage * Oversee deployment and infrastructure management in AWS
What We Expect * 5+ years of hands-on full-stack development with AWS * Proven experience as a Tech Lead, Principal Engineer, or similar * Strong background in TypeScript, React, and modern full-stack development * Solid knowledge of AWS infrastructure (deployment, monitoring, scaling) * Understanding of software architecture patterns (microservices, event-driven, serverless) * Database design and optimization experience * Excellent communication skills, able to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders * Fluent English (Upper-Intermediate or higher)
Nice to Have * Data engineering or building analytical systems * Experience in healthtech or biotech * Launching greenfield projects or scaling startup architectures
Interview Process * Introductory call with the recruiter * Meeting with the development team * In-depth technical interview with the current Solution Architect * Final meeting with the CEO and startup team
