We are looking for a Robotics Engineer to advance our UAV perception and navigation stack. You will work on visual-inertial odometry (VIO), sensor integration, and real-time vision systems for autonomous flight in GPS-denied environments.
This role involves deep technical problem-solving — from understanding hardware signals to optimizing algorithms on embedded systems.
Responsibilities * Develop and improve VIO and sensor-fusion pipelines for UAV navigation * Integrate camera, IMU, and auxiliary sensors (magnetometer, barometer, GPS) * Analyze logs, sensor data, and system performance to find root causes and optimize reliability * Prototype and test algorithms for localization, tracking, and mapping * Conduct experiments, evaluate drift/error metrics, and validate results in lab and flight tests * Collaborate with other team members
Must-Have * 3+ years of experience in robotics or autonomous systems involving computer vision * Experience designing and validating controlled experiments * Proficient in Python * Ability to structure complex problems into measurable, testable components. * Able to read and understand C++ codebases and make minor modifications when needed. * Proficiency with OpenCV for image and video processing * Strong foundation in linear algebra, geometry, and statistics * Experience working in Linux environments and with Docker containers * Experience with ROS/ROS2 and real-time data pipelines
Nice-to-Have * Ability to model real-world systems using math, logic, or simulation to test ideas. * Understanding of basic concepts in sensor fusion, state estimation, and visual-inertial odometry (VIO) * Hands-on experience integrating and calibrating multiple sensors (camera, IMU, barometer, GPS). * Experience with Ardupilot/PX4 * Hands-on work with embedded devices (Jetson, Raspberry Pi 5)
We Offer * Be part of a hands-on R&D team exploring advancing visual navigation and sensor fusion * Access to real flight hardware and test environments * Opportunity to experiment and research * Flexible, engineering-driven environment focused on results
