UPTARGET is seeking a highly skilled System Administrator to ensure stability, security, and scalability of IT operations across our retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure & Systems * Administer Windows/Linux servers, Active Directory, Group Policies, DNS, DHCP. * Manage virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V). * Maintain hybrid environments (on-prem, Azure, AWS, GCP, M365). * Oversee storage systems (SAN, NAS) and backup/disaster recovery.
Networking * Configure and support LAN/WAN, VLANs, routing, switching, and VPN/SD-WAN. * Monitor and troubleshoot store connectivity, Wi-Fi, and remote access. * Implement network visibility tools with AI-driven anomaly detection.
Integration & Middleware * Support integration platforms (Workato, Microsoft Power Automate, or similar). * Ensure seamless data and workflow automation between IT systems (ERP, POS, CRM, HR, ticketing). * Implement API-driven monitoring integrations (Slack, Teams).
Security & Compliance * Apply AI-assisted threat detection and log analytics (e.g., SIEM + AI correlation). * Maintain compliance with PCI DSS, GDPR, ISO 27001. * Automate patch/vulnerability remediation across servers, POS devices, and endpoints. * Harden environments against exploits and insider misuse.
Monitoring & Incident Response * Use AI-enhanced monitoring tools to predict outages before they occur. * Configure self-healing scripts to restore services without manual intervention. * Establish SOPs, runbooks, and automated playbooks for incident handling. * Serve as Tier-2/3 escalation for helpdesk and store IT issues.
Required Skills & Experience * 5+ years in system administration in a multi-site or retail environment. * Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux systems, networking, and virtualization. * Proven experience in IT process automation (PowerShell, Python, Ansible, Terraform). * Familiarity with AIOps platforms (Datadog, Splunk ITSI, or equivalent). * Experience integrating IT workflows through middleware and APIs. * Knowledge of PCI DSS, GDPR, ISO 27001 compliance. * Ability to implement and tune AI-driven monitoring systems.
Preferred Skills * Hands-on with container orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker Swarm) and automated scaling. * Experience with automation workflows. * Exposure to Zero Trust architectures with AI-driven access monitoring. * Familiarity with log analysis using AI/ML models (Elastic, Splunk, Chronicle).
Soft Skills * Analytical mindset, able to leverage AI insights to make operational decisions. * Strong communicator across IT, security, and business teams. * Documentation and training capability for AI-augmented workflows. * Proactive problem solver with a shift-left mindset (prevent rather than react).
