An early-stage startup building a cloud-native LLM-powered document intelligence platform. The system allows users to upload complex documents and interact with them via chat or structured extraction workflows, receiving LLM-generated answers with precise references to the original source content. The platform is built on a microservices architecture, leverages RAG techniques, and is designed to scale through stateless services and asynchronous processing on AWS.
We’re looking for a Senior Backend Engineer who is comfortable in a fast-paced startup environment, enjoys rapid iteration and vibe coding, and wants to take ownership while helping shape the product and technical direction as we build the future together.
Talent You’ll Bring Into Our Team: * 5+ years of experience in Python backend development * Solid experience with FastAPI * Hands-on experience with LLMs and RAG-based systems * Understanding of async processing, queues, and background workers * Experience working with AWS and cloud-native services * Good knowledge of PostgreSQL * Comfortable working in an environment with frequent changes and evolving priorities * Open to fast experimentation and modern, AI-assisted development workflows * Upper-Intermediate English or higher
Responsibilities: * Build and maintain backend services using Python (FastAPI) * Work on LLM-based document processing, including chat over documents and structured extraction * Develop asynchronous workflows using queues for large-scale document processing * Design and support REST APIs used by frontend and internal services * Improve system performance, reliability, and parallel execution * Add monitoring, logging, and basic observability to keep the platform healthy * Write tests to ensure stability as the product evolves * Collaborate closely with a small team in a fast-moving startup environment * Be comfortable experimenting, iterating quickly, and using AI-assisted / vibe coding approaches
Nice to Have: * Exposure to Cursor IDE, cursor agents, or other AI-assisted development workflows * Startup or early-stage product experience
